The health benefits of green tea are now well known and accepted. Matcha tea is green tea, only the tea leaves are finely powdered and are consumed with the tea, increasing the antioxidant and polyphenol content by at approximately ten fold.

According to current research, brewed Matcha tea contains nearly 10 times the polyphenols and antioxidants of regular teas. It has twice the antioxidant power of red wine and high concentrations of beta-carotene and other vitamins.
